One foot firmly rooted in the muck and one with toes in the clouds.

 

What is your biggest accomplishment?

Guest lecturer at Harvard at age 20.

 

Have you read any good books?

All books are good! Some challenge, some help you escape, but all serve a worthy purpose.

 

Who is your personal hero?

Monkees. They can fling poop at you and people still say “awww.”

Do you have a life philosophy that you live by?

Take only memories leave only footprints.

 

What do you like most about yourself?

I can have the best conversations in my head.

Killed Burger Fusion Company and reborn as Monkey Business Food Truck – change is inevitable…

 

If you could change the world, what would you change?

Remove greed.

 

What do you think is the meaning of life?

Live it; all of it, the good, the bad, and the ugly…

Depends on the “other”

I was once a Franciscan brother.

There is a purpose, there is more…

 

If you could wake up anywhere tomorrow, where would it be?

In my bed, hate waking up on the couch!

Eating anywhere, I’m hungry.

 

What’s the one thing you wish you could have a do-over for?

My death.

 

How do you work on yourself?

Deodorant and occasional showers.

 

What’s one thing you’ve had to overcome in your life?

The loss of my brother in Iraq.

 

How do you handle being in a bad mood?

My wife Julie

Much like books, all music is worthy (except country, that’s just too whiny for me). I am an eighties kid with a leaning toward alternative indie…

 

If you weren’t here running your business or doing the work you do, what would you be doing instead?

Camping and/or hiking

What is your favorite season in the Driftless & why?

Autumn of course –the most beautiful and a season of change…

 

Tell us of an experience /memory you had with Driftless lakes, rivers or waterways?

Meeting my now wife while sailing on Lake Pepin one evening.

 

Is there any place in the world you have been that reminds you of, or is similar to the Driftless?

No place on Earth is like the Driftless!

 

What is your best childhood memory?

Grew up in the flatlands east of Madison.

 

What are some of your favorite places to go for fun here in the Driftless?

Trempealeau State Park

 

What are some of your favorite places to eat here in the Driftless?

Lovechild for date night. Rumors Bar & Grill, Burr Oak for a friendly local bite. Any place I have not tried yet.

 

If you were to tell a friend to come and visit the Driftless Area, and they ask “Why” … What would you tell them?

No place on earth like it! The people and the terrain are unique.

Neither, but I choose Monkey

Newspaper Delivery. Camp Staff.

Flying away somewhere tropical and not having to rent a car!
