It’s a garden start-y seed-pickin’ party! Landscaping with native plants can be one
of the simplest and most rewarding ways to help support local ecosystems. In this
event hosted by Clayton County Conservation and the Iowa Prairie Network,
participants will have the chance to identify and collect native prairie plants for
their home gardens, and learn about how to propagate them for success.
This event is free and welcomes all ages. Bags for seed will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and be ready to
wade into tall grass. Bug spray and water recommended.
The group will meet at the large shelter near the Osborne Pond at 6:30 PM to talk
plant propagation before hiking into the field to identify and collect seed.
