Summer Adventures at the Dodge Center Library

The Dodge Center Public Library is a vibrant, active, welcoming place that includes collections of books, CDs, DVDs, games, snowshoes, knitting needles and crochet hooks and much more.

The Dodge Center Public Library is located at 13 1st Ave NW, Dodge Center MN 55927. We are pleased to offer many services to the citizens of Dodge Center, Dodge County, and Southeastern Minnesota. They provide public computers and wifi for the community, and getting a library card is free! The library hosts programs for all ages and interests and all events at the library are free and open to everyone.

The Dodge Center Public Library has a selection of items, a Library of Things collection that you can check out for free with your library card. They have everything from sports equipment to technology, musical instruments, and more! You might find a new hobby!

Keep your brain active!

Earn special library badges by completing reading and activity challenges this summer. Pick up a challenge sheet at the library any time you stop by!

Mark off the challenges as you complete them, and bring your sheet to the library to pick up your unique badge. Collect 20 or more to earn a string backpack! The challenge runs all summer long: June 1 through August 2.

Summer Programs

The library has storytime twice a week, for the littlest library patrons, June through August! 

  • Sensory storytime Mondays 10:00am  – Read, sing & explore activities with us at the library!
  • Easy Crafting Tuesdays 10:00am  – Paint, draw, cut, and glue to make fun crafts each week!
  • Outdoor Storytime Wednesdays 11:00am  – Outdoor reading & playtime at Lions’ Park!

The library also has elementary age and teen activities throughout the week:

  • Knit/Crochet Mondays 1:oopm – Bring yarn and work on your project with friends.
  • Slimy Science Tuesdays 1:00pm – Create slime & other experiments at the library!
  • STEM Adventures Wednesdays 1:00pm – Explore electricity, robotics, hands-on science!
  • Knit/Crochet Thursdays 10:00am – Bring yarn and work on your project with friends.
  • Craft Club Thursdays 1:00pm – Explore with painting, clay, mosaics and more!
  • Building Club Fridays 10:00am – Construct with Lego, K’Nex, Magnatiles & more!
  • Game Club Fridays 1:00-3:00pm – Hang out and play board games and video games.
  • Kids Book Club Wednesdays June 25, July 23, August 27 at 3:30pm at the library.

Registration is required for the activities indicated. All are FREE and open to the public. All activities are subject to weather cancellations. Check the library’s Facebook page for any updates or changes.  

All summer long, they’ll be hiding a tiny squishmallow at the library. If you find it, let a staff member know and you’ll get a sticker! All ages are welcome for this fun scavenger hunt!
