Interview With Crickett

What is your best childhood memory?
Best childhood memory was sledding, on my birthday in May, on a small patch of snow. Seasons in the Driftless regions can last longer than expected at times.

If you had a chance for a “do-over” in life, what would you do differently?
If I had a chance for a “do-over” in life, I would acquire more trade skills, such as mechanics, agriculture, and carpentry.

What are you most proud of?
I am proud to see my family farm pursue forward with the next generation to help keep it going. This land has provided my family with so many opportunities and I am excited to be a part of that.

What is your favorite music, all time favorite song, or ‘one’ song a person should listen to at least once?
My favorite type of music, is music that is up tempo and inspires you to get up and make something happen. Favorite song is the Love Shack by The B-52’s. Listen to a song that you have never heard before, give it a chance, you might be surprised.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere it would be Ireland and Scotland. I would want to see where my ancestors had evolved from.

If you could only keep three possessions, what would they be?
The three possessions I would keep are: my computer, my vinyl, and my record player.

What teacher in school made the most impact on you and why?
Mr. Gary Plate, Math teacher. He taught me the only dumb question there is, is the one that isn’t asked. You must take risk (put yourself out there) to receive your reward or in this case, understanding.

What was one of your most defining moments in life?
When I met my husband and we became a team chasing after one another’s passion. Building each other up and making our dreams happen. Our love for music is one of a kind, and I am so happy that he gets me.

How do you spend your free-time?
Checking out new events to get ideas to improve our current concepts. These days with COVID-19 happening, exploring new music and chatting up with friends on social media.

What are you favorite reads, (books, magazines, online stuff, cereal box) and why?
Posters, and marketing ads. Keeps my creative juices on the lookout for eye catching concepts. It is what keeps me inspired.

What was your most embarrassing moment?
One time I was a server for a high-end Asian fusion restaurant, and I was delivering an eel avocado roll with a delicious reduction sauce to a table. At the time of arrival, I delivered the roll right into the customer’s purse as it was a to go bag. For surely my most embarrassing moment. All worked out after buying for the purse to be dry cleaned and dinner bill on me.

If you could witness any event of the past, present, or future, what would it be?
It would have been quite the experience to witness the first Woodstock.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?
The skill that I would like to learn these days is Search Engine Optimization. Understanding the new territory of algorithms and getting the attention of the right market.

What does a perfect day look like to you?
Being able to accomplish 50-75% of the goals I set forth for each day. I am goal orientated and task driven.

If you were to tell a friend to come and visit the Driftless Area, and they ask “Why” … what would you tell them?
The Driftless region is the mountains of the Midwest. The Central Park of New York, but in the Midwest states. Come take a moment to get lost to find your serenity.
