I would probably pick a different college besides Luther, not because I&nbsp; didn\u2019t love Luther, but because I\u2019m basically a townie for life right now, and it would\u2019ve been&nbsp; fun to go to a school not in my hometown.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><br><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><br><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I wouldn\u2019t change anything about my college experience at Luther, but I kind of wish I had&nbsp; gotten out of Decorah, IA, at some point, either before or after college because I\u2019m basically a townie for life right now (?) &nbsp;<\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><br><br>What are you most proud of?<br><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I\u2019m most proud of the business my parents and I have built (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/impactcoffeebar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Impact Coffee<\/a>). We have met a&nbsp; few bumps in the road&nbsp;along the way, but to.see where we are today has made it all worth it.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-21690 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/driftlessareamag.com\/unicdn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/guy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessareamag.com\/unicdn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/guy.jpg 400w, https:\/\/driftlessareamag.com\/unicdn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/guy-273x300.jpg 273w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><strong>What is your favorite music, song, or What \u2018one\u2019 song do you think a person should listen to at least once?<\/strong><br \/>Picking music or having control of the aux cord is one of my biggest fears. I\u2019m all over the\u00a0 place with music, from pop and rap to EDM or reggae. Pretty much anything but country!<br \/><br \/><strong>If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?<\/strong><br \/>Germany. My mom\u2019s side of the family lives there and my most recent trip (planned for May\u00a0 2020) got cancelled, so I\u2019m very eager to re-book to go see the family and drink some awesome German beers. \u00a0<br \/><br \/><strong>If you could only keep three possessions, what would they be?<\/strong><br \/>My dog, Lotti, my Surly fat bike and my iPhone. \u00a0<br \/><br \/><strong>What teacher in school made the most impact on you and why?<\/strong><br \/>Ron Gesme. He was my middle school history teacher and high school tennis coach. One of\u00a0 the most honest and genuine people I have ever been around. He was a great storyteller and\u00a0 incredibly motivational on the tennis count. I still get to see him walk by the coffee shop almost every morning. \u00a0<br \/><br \/><strong>What was one of your most defining moments in life?<\/strong><br \/>Choosing to attend <a href=\"https:\/\/www.luther.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luther College<\/a> over other colleges. I met life-long friends there and made\u00a0 connections in the community that have helped me get to where I am today. \u00a0<br \/><br \/><strong>How do you spend your free-time?<\/strong><br \/>Entertaining my puppy, fat biking, fly fishing and quoting The Office or Parks &amp; Rec.<br \/><br \/><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-21691 size-full alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/driftlessareamag.com\/unicdn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/table.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"440\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessareamag.com\/unicdn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/table.jpg 400w, https:\/\/driftlessareamag.com\/unicdn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/table-273x300.jpg 273w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><strong>What are your favorite reads and why?<\/strong><br \/>Either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tu.org\/magazine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trout Magazine<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baristamagazine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Barista Magazine<\/a>. Trout Magazine always gives me ideas of places to travel someday for fly fishing trips. Barista Magazine is a great source for new ideas in the coffee industry, it has been helpful to see what other shops\u00a0 similar to ours are doing to stay relevant and innovative.<br \/><br \/><strong>What was your most embarrassing moment?<\/strong><br \/>One time in the high school band I got my finger stuck in a trombone mute. The nurse wanted to send me to the ER to have the mute off, but my parents weren\u2019t about to pay for an ER visit. So my mom brought me home so my Dad could cut it off with a sawzall. When I got to our house my Dad had already called his best friend to come help (and laugh at me).
