As winter fades and the Driftless Area comes back to life, it’s the perfect time to get outdoors, explore, and put your dog’s training into practice. Spring and early summer bring longer days, patio weather, and plenty of opportunities for real-world training.
Whether you’re hiking new trails, hitting the town, or just soaking up the season, your dog should be a well-mannered adventure partner. That means reinforcing skills like loose-leash walking, recall, and polite socialization\u2014especially with all the new distractions this time of year.

Best Outdoor Adventures for You and Your Dog<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Wildcat Mountain State Park<\/a> \u2013 Ontario, WI<\/strong><\/span>
This park is a must-visit for towering bluffs, scenic overlooks, and winding trails. Spring rains bring fresh greenery, and the trails are perfect for practicing leash manners on different terrains.<\/span>
Training Tip: Muddy paws are inevitable! Keep a towel in the car and use this to reinforce “wait” before jumping in the vehicle.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
