G<\/span><\/strong><\/span>rowing up in a small town, I have always been a big supporter of local businesses. Richland Center, WI has a sweet spot in the middle of town that is host to many locally owned shops. To start the day, a stop at Kelly\u2019s Coffee House<\/a> is a must. You walk in and the smell of coffee is sure to bless you. They have many drink options and breakfast in the mornings and a case full of delicious treats. I think the yummy bars are a must try, and my go-to order is an Iced Americano with cream and caramel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After you have your morning pick me up, there are shops for everyone within walking distance. If you like to find a good book, there is a quaint bookstore, Ocooch Books & Libations<\/span>. The ability to hold a book in your hands and be able to smell the pages is something to appreciate. There are also furniture stores, gift shops, and boutiques that deserve a look around, both within walking distance and a little further.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are anything like me, you are starting to think about lunch. No matter what your taste buds are asking for, you can be sure to find something to satisfy them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\"\"There is a pizza place on the corner called Nate’s Downtown<\/a>, a namesake to the couple who owns the shop\u2019s son. You will feel welcome. Another favorite of mine with a very authentic feel is RC Taco<\/a>. You walk in and will feel you are a guest in someone\u2019s house more than you are at a restaurant and the smell itself will have your mouth watering before you try any of the delicious food. Christy\u2019s Sunnyside Bakery and Cafe<\/a> serve great lunch option as well as fulfill your sweet tooth after.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many activities to fill the rest of the day. The Pine River<\/a> runs through the town, taking a trip down it in a kayak or a tube is definitely enjoyable on a nice day. There is also a paved biking and walking trail that gives you the opportunity to stretch your legs. Winter or summer, there is a place for you to swim. The Symons Recreation Complex<\/a> has an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna and a fitness center and classes. On a hot summer day, you may choose to soak up the sun at the Woodman Aquatic Center<\/a> where you can enjoy the pool or the free splash pad. Another great outdoor activity is golfing. If you are up to a bit of a challenge, the course at Quail Run Golf Links<\/a> has a 9 hole course you will enjoy. From August-November you can visit Oakwood Fruit Farm<\/a>, they have much more than apples for you to enjoy in their shop! If you have an ATV\/UTV, locals love riding to surrounding communities and you will be sure to as well. Feeling nostalgic, check out the Galaxie Skate Center<\/a> or the Starlite 14 Drive-In Theater<\/a>. If you’re not into outdoor theaters, there’s also the Center Cinema downtown. Another indoor activity available in the community is bowling at the Phoenix Center<\/a>. These are fun options that can include the entire family!<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"You may wonder where to grab dinner by the end of the day. If you travel north about 10 miles, you will come to Hub city, on your right y ou will find Turbo\u2019s Bar and Grill<\/a> that has a delicious fish fry on Friday nights and serves prime rib on Saturday nights. There is also a new restaurant, the Pine River Smoke Co.<\/span> in town that takes reservations on Friday and Saturday nights.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A great place to stay in the area is Anyway Place<\/a>. They have seven different cabins to accommodate your unique needs, being able to host anywhere from two guests to twelve. It is located outside of town on 80 beautiful acres that really highlight the driftless region. Each cabin has a plethora of windows, so you will enjoy the view. The Anyway Store is on the property and offers locally sourced goods, groceries and even a home decor line. You can enjoy Anyway Place in all four seasons, but be sure to book in advance as they fill up. You don\u2019t want to miss out on this experience!<\/span><\/p>\n
